Welcome

I'm not sure where to start.... so I guess I will start with this;  welcome to Naked Lens Photography.

Admittedly, there was much controversy over the name.  It has been suggested that it is slightly suggestive for a wedding photographer, and even more so for a real estate photographer.  But, I liked it.  Not for it's suggestive nature, but for the true meaning of why I choose the name.  My photography is supposed to be a naked truth.  Perhaps I should explain.

My high school photography teacher (Mr. Kirkland.... great teacher!) once said that all photography is nothing more than a well crafted lie.  By choosing what is in a photograph, by choosing the light, by choosing the setting, by choosing the way the viewers eyes travel through a photograph you are creating the part of a story you wish to tell.  By do so, you are actively not telling another story.  And understand this description of photography, and what it means to create a story-- that has never been my intention when it comes to my work.

I prefer to tell stories that let you decide the punchline.  To include whole stories.  It is not lying about a story, but rather telling you about a truth.  That what the naked lens is to me... stripping away the inconsistencies, and letting you imagine your own story.

That's enough waxing philosophical for now.  Everything only boils down to one simple truth.... I honestly hope you enjoy what you see.
